Express home claims
Information and requirements
If your client’s Home claim is ≤ $2,000 after the deduction of any applicable excess, then we consider it not reasonably practicable to repair or replace the building damage or item as this would be uneconomical. Instead, we will cash settle the claim within 48 hours (2 business days) after your client’s claim is lodged and you have received your claim number; providing all required documentation for assessment has been provided to us at the time of claim lodgement. If the claim is not settled within 2 business days, we’ll waive any excess that’s due.
For your client to qualify for the Express Home Claim Guarantee1, the following applies:
- The Home Claim must only be reported to us via our online claim form or email
- The Insured’s premium must be fully paid, within our credit terms
The policy must cover the claim for loss - All required documentation for assessment must have been provided to us at the time of the claim lodgement; and
- The date of loss must be greater than 3 months from the original inception date.
Information required at claim lodgement
To assist the client in qualifying, the Broker is to provide the following at claim lodgement:
- policy number
- confirmation that premium has been paid to your office or to Hollard within our credit terms
- date of loss
- location of loss
- detailed description of loss including details of what has been damaged, lost or stolen
- ABN & ITC% confirmed
- EFT details must be provided
- damaged property
- Itemised quote or invoice for repairs, confirming the cause of damage
- Photos of the damage
- Lost or stolen property
- Proof of ownership for items that have been lost or stolen
- Replacement quote or invoice for equivalent items
- Police report number
