How do you want us to clarify our self-assessment?
The self-assessment form asks you to rate your ability and experience level for each of the modules. To clarify this rating, we would like you to tell us why you gave yourself that rating and how you apply them within your current job. The reason for this is to try and ensure the successful participants have similar experience and capabilities and how the course can be pitched at the right level for everyone.
Is it possible to do the whole course remotely and online?
One of the major benefits of the program is the networking with other participants and the connections you will make over the year and so we made the decision to run the program primarily face to face and not online.
I'm not a broker, but work within a brokerage in another role. Can I still apply?
Absolutely, yes you can.
I don't have 10 years' experience, or I feel I am not senior enough can I still apply?
Ideally, we are looking for participants with quite extensive experience, but understand that there may be some ideal future candidates that haven’t quite got the 10 years. We would definitely recommend that if you don’t meet this eligibility then please do still apply and if you could include in the comments box of the application form how many years you do have that would be very helpful. This program is a great opportunity for women in the industry to further their careers and we understand that there are many less experienced women who are keen to grow and get ahead in their careers as well.
In addition, diversity adds value in a course like this. Everyone’s experience and perspective is unique. The junior members in the group can also add fresh thinking or newer perspectives which are valuable to the group’s learning process and building a diverse network.
Have the course dates been confirmed and won't change from those already noted in the participant brochure?
We have confirmed the dates with the UNSW and also the AGSM as we have had to put in place the accommodation and tutors for the program. At this stage the dates will not be changing unless due to unforeseen circumstances and are necessary.
Is there a large amount of assignments or out of course hours work?
There will be some work outside of the course hours, but it will be kept to a minimum. As an example there could be some pre-course reading and preparation for a presentation at the end of the course.
Is this course focusing on employees or brokers that own their own business?
The program is focused on developing females within the insurance industry who are emerging leaders and are keen to advance their leadership skills. This could apply both to employees of a brokerage who are keen to become a more senior leader, or maybe want to go out and run their own business or for those who currently own their business and are keen to hone their leadership skills.
